Yep, ex-Talis Mo.

New job is going OK, a lot to learn. We had our first release last week and working towards the next release, which should be in early August.

How are things are Talis?

Elliot you cyber

Elliot you cyber geek!!!!!

I lost my phone recently and hence, all hope of ever contacting you. Tried contacting Paul but he was useless
so i thought I would search the web net thingy as I know you spend an unhealthy amount of time in it.

Lo and behold.... I found you

We received the photo of the gorgeous new addition to the family. Congratulations. Obviously he is the spitting image of you
without the beard, glasses, and 13 additional stone, and he is gorgeous. Please give our love to Nicola.

Well, I heard that if you spend to much time online you get cybergeek diseases so please email me your telephone
number as it would be great to catch up, on a more conventional medium of communication!

Speak soon
Andy

If you have a look in the

If you have a look in the sample config. in the post, you should see an example path (
/usr/lib/php5/20060613+lfs/xdebug.so
). I can't be definitive about where it's located, as the path to the extension (and in some cases, even the name of the file) depends on the version of Linux/PHP/Apache you're using. But it's likely to be called something like xdebug.so and be located in your PHP installation's extensions directory (look for the extension_dir setting in your php.ini file to work out what the latter is).

Question...

You wrote: "Note you need to use zend_extension= to load the extension, and you should use the absolute path to the module (.so file) to do this. Otherwise it fails."

So, what is the name of the extension? Where do I find it?

Cheers mister. That's the music that comes out of me. I love warped and broken noises. Johnny Mathis is a well of sonic opportunity.

By the way, my frigging blog thinks every legitimate comment is spam. I had to turn on the spam module, as well as captchas, as I was getting someone manually spamming loads of pages on my blog. Losers. Anyway, I've reinstated your comment.

Far out tune, mo-fo. Interesting sound source. It's either the baby causing sleep deprivation, instigating symphonic auditory hallucinations... or you are just a mentalist. Cool.

The simplest approach would

The simplest approach would be to give each user an authentication token (e.g. a sha1 hash of their username + password + salt) which they append to the RSS URL to get an authenticated feed. The RSS action only returns the feed if the token is present. That would probably do it.

What about authentication?

In my site a user has to login. I've made it work so that the RSS feed is for them, but I'm not sure how to get them to be able to loggin before hand. Any ideas? I'm just using basic salt/md5 hashing and sessions to store the user.

You don't need to use the h function here. Stuff you put in is automatically encoded.
